Lilly's First Photo Shoot

O.k. so I know I just posted, but I had to add these photos because we just had them made yesterday and they are so cute!  Lilly was such a good girl during the shoot and Bobby was a good sport about it even though we had to be there at 7:20 a.m...ugh! Enjoy!!

Thanksgiving...and other stuff!

WOW!  I can't believe it has been almost a month since I last "blogged."  So much has happened, but I guess the biggest thing is that Lilly is STILL sick and has developed quite an ear infection.  The doctor has put her on another antibiotic and we will go back next Thursday to make sure it has gone away.  On the upside I am feeling a bit more confident that I am doing everything I can for her and that she is just a sick little thing.  Daycare is pretty much what is causing the runny nose, congestion, and cough.  I have her bed tilted, a humidifier going at night, and I am using saline drops to help her breath and that is about all I can do.  Lilly is in good spirits and always finds something to smile about so if she is happy so am I!

Thanksgiving with my family here at home and with Bobby's family in Indiana was really fun and eventful.  I think Lilly is finally warming up to her Pops and we have the pictures to prove it.  Also, seeing Emma, Kailey, and Chandler with her was just adorable.  She doesn't want for attention when everyone is around that is for sure.  She also met Kelsey, Kate and Pete's German Shepherd and everything went well.  Kelsey was very good and didn't eat Lilly so that is good.  Enjoy the photos!!

Bobby Juechter (aka Lilly's dad and my hubby)

I am very thankful for many things in my life, but I think that I am most thankful for having married a wonderful, caring, amazing man.  Now don't get me wrong, there are times I want to rip his head off and throw it out the window, but every since Lilly has been born I have watched this man, my husband, develop into a FATHER!  Of course it didn't happen all at once and we both still have things to work on as parents, but I think we are going to be o.k.

Bobby was so funny the day Lilly was born!  If you know Bobby at all you know how weirded out he is with hospitals and needles so I think that he was more nervous about labor and delivery than I was, but after all was said and done he never wavered.  Well, he did have to leave the room for the IV and epidural, but he was definitely my rock through the whole process and he was an amazing partner!  That moment that Lilly was born was a priceless treasure and the proud look on hes face is something I will never forget!!
There were many times in my first few weeks of motherhood that I thought I was loosing my mind, that I thought "I can't do this," that I just needed a break and he was there to take her off my hands so that I could take a walk or run out for ice cream.  He hates changing dirty diapers, but he does it with much nagging on my part.  He can always get a smile out of her.  He introduced her to cartoons on Saturday morning.  He also introduced her to "peek-a-boo" and she can't get enough!
When I started back to work we had a bit of an issue wondering what our mornings were going to be like.  I didn't want to get up at 4:00 a.m. to get myself ready, her ready, make lunches, pack bags, and so forth so I knew Bobby was going to have to get up to help me.  I like to think of it as "Lilly and Daddy time!"  Every morning at 5:00 a.m. I go to Lilly's room and wake her up.  I get her dressed (while she screams) and bring her to her daddy(still screaming.)  They lay in bed and she eats.  Then she coos and spits until he gets her back to sleep!  They are so cute laying there asleep every morning and I almost hate to wake her to go to school when it's time to leave!!
Bobby and I have been married for 4 1/2 years and I consider myself extremely lucky to have found the love of my life who is shaping up to be a pretty awesome daddy!  I can't wait to see what the next few years have in store for us as a married couple and as parents.
I love you Bobby and I promise to give you and Lilly my best:)!

Fall Adventures Part 2

Well it has been a very hectic two weeks for Lilly and our little family!  Congratulations to Kate and Pete for buying their first home.  We really loved spending time with them while they stayed in our guest room.  We will always remember and cherish the time we had spent together:)  On the other hand it feels really strange to come home and it just be the three of us.  We have only had two weeks of "just the three of us since" Lilly was born so we will see how we do!

We finally got around to carving those pumpkins we bought at the pumpkin patch (and it only took us until the day BEFORE Halloween!)  I chose an easy design of a ghost since this was the first time I ever carved a pumpkin, but Bobby chose a more detailed design and his turned out amazing!  For Lilly's mini pumpkin I decided to paint hers and make it into a bat and I thought it turned out really cute!

We also tried to dress Lilly up in her "Red Hot Lilly Pepper" outfit the night of Halloween, but she was just not having it, but that day she did let me get a few shots of her in the outfit her Nana gave her and I love the onsie.  It says "I Love My Mummy!"  (Gotta love those spit bubbles!)  The cute "My First Halloween" bib was given to her at school and I am ashamed to say I didn't even think about getting her one so I am glad they took care of that for me...ha!!
Bobby and I went to Stacey and Sean's house on Saturday night for their annual Halloween Boozefest and it was a great time...as usual...but I had to get a picture with Lilly while I was dressed up as "I Love Lucy."  Surprisingly when seemed to recognize me and wasn't scared when I held her.  She even cracked a smiled when I changed her diaper.  I was more worried that Bobby would scare her because he was dressed as "Beetlejuice" and I don't think I would have recognized him if I didn't know it was him, but our Lilly didn't miss a beat!  She KNEW it was HER DADDY and smiled at him with his crazy hair:)

Lilly's Grandpa (Ray) Came for the weekend to help Kate and Pete move into their new house and of course he came with gifts from him and Gran (Chris.)  The monkey feety pajamas are adorable and Lilly loves them.  I have to say that I do as well because they are zip up and I LOVE the zips instead of the snap buttons...Lilly has NO PATIENCE for silly snap buttons.

Finally after her bath, one night this weekend, we decided to take a picture of her in her hoodie towel because that is my absolute FAVORITE time of day and she just looks so sweet when she is nice and clean.  Really it just makes me want to snuggle with her all night...but anyway, we decided to get a picture and I think it is one of the cutest photos we have taken so far!

Lilly was officially 4 months old on Tuesday November 2nd and I CANNOT BELIEVE how fast she is growing!!  She weighs 15.4 lbs and she is 24 2/3 inches long.  The doctor said she is perfect and is progressing very well.  We have moved her up to 6 oz and are hoping that she will soon start eating every 4 hours instead of 3, but I won't hold my breath.  Dr. Mishu says we can introduce her to cereal when we feel ready and I am hoping that when we do she will sleep a bit more soundly.  Don't get me wrong, I am very happy that she sleeps as well as she does, but I am hoping that if we can get her belly a little fuller before bedtime she will sleep a bit more soundly without stirring throughout the night.  Lilly can roll over from front to back (which I will post a video of very soon,) she is becoming way more vocal, and I love to hear her giggle!
She is just the most amazing thing and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Until next time...

Fall Adventures Part 1

It was such a beautiful weekend last weekend so we took Lilly to the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkins for carving!  One large (Daddy,) one medium (Mommy,) and one small (Lilly!)  We had to wake her up once we arrived at the pumpkin patch so she wasn't the most very alert, but I think she likes being outside!  It is so amazing to watch her see and discover new things because she is so mezmorized.  Lilly and her daddy wondered around and looked at all the decorations and she really liked the dancing witch.  She just stared and stared in amazement at the witch like it was the most amazing thing she had ever seen:)  I picked out the pumpkins and put them in our wagon and we were off.  Can't wait to paint and carve!!

One of my former students gave Lilly the cutest outfit at a baby shower last year and I thought I should probably get some photos of her wearing it before she gets to big!  It is the cutest tutu and black tank top.  I added the ruffle socks that Whitney gave her and she was ready to go:)  Lilly still isn't smiling on command so I just chalk it up to her practicing her "America's Next Top Model" serious face...that's our girl!  Either way, I think that she looks cute and the pictures are adorable!

Lillys' Aunt Kate and Uncle Pete babysat while Bobby and I went out last Saturday night and I think they did an excellent job!  They gave her a bath, her medicine, and got her to bed with relatively few problems.  I think they should watch her EVERY saturday night...ha!

GO TITANS!!!  I can already tell that Lilly is a HUGE Titans fan!  She loves watching the game with us on Sunday wearing her Titan's cheerleading outfit or her Titan's tee and bluejean bloomers.  When it get's a little cooler she can start wearing the addorable jean overalls her Gram bought for her!  Gramps bought her the Colts (yuk) pacifiers, but for some reason she cries everytime I try to give it to her...sorry Ray!

Until next week...

Our Fall Break

So many fun things have happened during our Fall Break this week!  We had fun visits with Grandma (Chris) and Grandpa (Ray) over the weekend and then Nana (Belle) stayed with us on Thursday night so Bobby and I could go out...thanks momma!

Well I really wanted her to start sleeping in her big girl bed (crib) this week, but since she is just getting over a cold that woke her up two to three times a night for the past few weeks, I decided to give it a few more days.  She has about two days left on the antibiotic.  I know what you are thinking "excuses excuses," but really it is going to be hard to have her all the way upstairs and so far away, so give me a break!! I might...yes might...try it tonight, but I make no promises.  We also needs get the monitor system set up.  It is a really good one (thanks Ray and Chris) so I know that once she is in her room I will have full Lilly coverage!  I suppose I should be nice and wait until Kate and Pete aren't living in the room right next to her nursery, but that's the price they pay for living with a 15 week old...sorry guys!

On another note she has officially found her "tootsies" this week and she can't stop grabbing them!  It is so cute!  I will give Ray some credit for playing Patty Cake with her feet everyday while they were here.  Not one hour after he and Chris left to go back to Indiana, she just reached down and grabbed her toes and now she can't help her self.  Lilly loves to lay on the changing table...weird right?  She will just look up at you and "goo" and blow spit bubbles and smile.  My heart just melts:)  Laying on the changing table was where I discovered her new trick and of course I think she is the smartest baby alive!!  Next stop is pulling her socks off...which she is already trying to do!

Our neighborhood had it's fall yard sales last weekend and I found an "Exersaucer" for Lilly and it was only $4!!  She seems to like it, but just like everything else she will only stay occupied with it for about 10 minutes and then it is on the the next thing.  We also tried out the play gym that Patty gave to her and she likes it pretty well too!

After much debate, we decided Lilly would be a Chili Pepper for Halloween!  Even though she can't eat candy and won't actually go trick-or-treating we never miss an opportunity to dress her up in some crazy cute getup!

Until next week...
